Facilities Systems Technician - UPS Mechanic (Senior)

The Contractor shall perform senior-level of specialty services to power Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems including but not limited to the following:
  • US licensed or have military equivalency
  • Possess OEM certifications for the equipment they support
  • Will perform periodic equipment inspections to identify and monitor symptoms which indicate that mechanical failure of a piece of equipment may be approaching. Predictive maintenance shall include, but is not limited to:
    • Monitoring of equipment energy consumption to detect anomalies
    • Monitoring of electrical distribution systems to detect abnormal heat buildup
    • Notifying CFE of suspected impending equipment failure.
  • Perform preventive, predictive maintenance and normal repair/emergency repair support for all UPS units and batteries, subsystems, controls, and electrical systems, breakers, and equipment between the MDP and the UPS units and associated components.
  • Periodic monitoring will be accomplished to ensure the units and all ancillary equipment and appurtenances are functioning as intended and in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Develop and maintain posted instructions in UPS equipment rooms and on electrical switchgear or switchboards for transfer of loads to the UPS unit(s) from UPS to bypass commercial power and retransfer back to UPS power that clearly identifies actions to be taken and the sequences of these actions. Instructions shall also be developed and posted for putting UPS units in the maintenance bypass mode.

Qualifications:
  • 12 years of experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have strong oral communication skills and proven success working on teams
