Long Summary

Special Assistants are responsible for providing dedicated executive secretarial support to designated Senior Executives (SE throughout the Agency or assigned to Intelligence Community staffs. Special Assistants manage the overall workflow and coordination of the Senior Executive’s responsibilities throughout the Agency and the Intelligence Community. Incumbents are expected to exercise a wide latitude of discretion regarding workflow, priorities, and methods in addition to an in-depth knowledge of the various executives’ styles, methods of operation, relationships, and authorities. Work includes scheduling, managing, and disseminating the Senior Executive’s calendar, controlling access to the Senior Executive, monitoring e-mail and other types of correspondence for action items, and drafting and preparing non-routine letters, memos, documents, and various reports.
Short Summary
Positions at this level are expected to interact with high-ranking officials both within the Agency and throughout the Intelligence Community, Congress, the White House, and the private sector. Intrinsic to the Special Assistant’s work is knowledge of the Agency, the Intelligence Community, and other government agencies. Incumbents may provide general supervision and guidance to junior contract special assistants.
Core Qualifications

Experience: Three years of progressively responsible executive office support experience.
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
