Malicious Software (Malware) Investigator - Security Computer and Forensic Investigator Level 4

Investigates suspected instances of waste, fraud and abuse; data spills; and, network penetrations of the customer’s information systems. Investigates and eradicates computer viruses and malicious code. Provide computer incident and violation response support, and cyber security awareness and training. Participates in technical meetings and working groups to address issues related to computer security, protection against malware and other vulnerabilities. Assist in the development and delivery of malware security awareness products and briefings. Collaborate with the customer, team members, computer security investigators, forensic analysts, and other internal and external organizations. Experience with analytical problem solving and familiar with conducting security investigations and operations relating to suspected incidents. In-depth working knowledge in DoD intelligence regulations and familiar with intelligence oversight principles. Must possess superior writing and briefing skills and publish finished analysis. Must possess a level of knowledge and experience with information technology, information systems and other technical disciplines, which is adequate to allow for successful completion of all assigned duties and responsibilities.

  • 11-14 years of computer and network security experience. Experience needs to be within the following areas:
  1. Data analytics tools, databases
  2. Computer Networks
  3. Malware identification, review, analysis, mitigation and reporting
  4. System Administration.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Federal Law Enforcement or Intelligence Communities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or IT field.
  • Desired: Graduate from FLETC, DCITA, JCITA, or DOD course or program. Experience in coordinating testing with C&A, Vulnerability Assessment Teams (VAT), and/or Information Assurance (IA) offices. Experience in developing and maintaining System Security Authorization Agreements throughout hardware lifecycles of pertinent equipment. Experience in analyzing and evaluating the suitability of proposed security architectures for new IT systems and networks. Experience in defining appropriate system and network assurance requirements for C&A.
